This blog is about the ups and downs of raising four sons. It is all about my perception as a mom and how I can turn it into humor at the end of the day.
About Me
- Lovin' My Four Boys
- My life revolves around my family. I am married to a wonderful man, Mathew, for the past 14 years. We have four awesome boys, Austin, Nicholas, Preston and Liam. I am a full time working mom but enjoyed being with my boys for 8 years. Our life is full of the ups and downs everyday brings. We seem to find humor though through it all.

Awanas
The boys have been going to Awanas through our church and they really like it. Nicholas has been memorizing his verses so easily and yesterday earned his vest and his new workbook. He already has the next two memorized and Austin is almost finished with his book too. They earn Awana bucks on top of their badges so they want to get five to go shopping. It is really good for them and also for us. Mat and I manage to get a dinner out each Wednesday. I guess it helps the whole family but I am just glad the boys enjoy it.

Watch Dora!!
My Dad was over today and he was helping the boys with their homework. Preston was counting in spanish and my Dad said how impressed he was. Well Preston asked Papa if he knew how to count to ten in spanish and he said he didn't. Preston gave his 5 year old advice and told him to Watch Dora Papa, as in Dora the Explorer. Gotta love a five year old!!

Our Yearly Photo Session

So, the time has come once again to get the boys' pictures done for the holidays. Oh and the fun it was. Let me just sum it up in one picture. The picture of the boys jumping in the air, the glasses flying off of Nicholas' face, and Preston's tummy being exposed shows just how much fun we had. It wasn't our family session because Mat had to work late so we will have more fun in about two weeks. Have fun looking at some of the pictures from our photo shoot. I will admit though that compared to last year I did love a whole lot more pictures.

Two and a half hours............
That is what it took me to sign Austin up for basketball on Saturday. There was one person signing kids up and the line was all the way around the community center. I even got there a little earlier than it said. Some people said they had been there since 4am. I am sorry but get enough people to sign kids up or do it a different day if you do not have enough volunteers. I would have been happy to volunteer at my school. Austin will be playing for his school but the sign ups were at the community center. Our small town is no longer small and they should be ready when events like this happen. If they had done it at the schools you wouldn't have had to wait at all. At least he got on his school's team. While we were standing there they kept closing grade levels at schools. I was just hoping that Austin's grade and school didn't close. At least the boys behaved while we were waiting.

Balloon Fiesta
Well, Balloon Fiesta is upon us here in NM. Every year the boys' school holds a balloon launch and two balloons launch from their school field. I took the boys this morning to go have some hot chocolate and muffins and watch the balloons. It is nicer than the Balloon Fiesta because the people launching the balloons will talk with the kids about how the balloons fill up and are able to fly in the air. The boys are always fascinated by this type of stuff. They someday want to go up in one. I am sure they will too and probably with Daddy. I have attached some pictures from our morning at the launch.

Baseball ends and Basketball begins.....
Well, next Saturday Austin will be done with the fall season of baseball. Then it is onto basketball for him. We sign him up this weekend. He is very excited since you have to wait until third grade to join. He has been patiently waiting for this. I hope he enjoys it too. I am sure he will and it will keep him in shape over the winter months until baseball rolls around again. Sports sure do rule the life of parents as their kids get older.
Austin is also learning the electric guitar from his Papa. He is going to learn the song Mmmbop and so are his brothers. Nicholas is getting drums for his birthday and Preston wants to learn the keyboard and sing. So they want to practice really hard and try out for their school's talent show. It is very cute to watch them try and sing and learn instruments. Austin is actually catching onto the guitar very quickly. I am sure some of that stems from being from the same bloodline as his musically talented Papa. The boys are always amazed that Papa can just hear a song and then play it for them on the guitar or keyboard. I am glad they are all enjoying it together. I will have to take some pictures of them together next week and post them.
Well, I also can't believe that the first nine weeks of school is almost over and the first set of report cards will be coming home. The boys seem to be doing well and enjoying school a little more each day they go. Preston is not crying anymore so that is a positive.
Halloween will be here soon so have a Happy October!!
