Visit with Santa

We took the boys to visit Santa today. They threw us a curveball when they got up there and asked for completely different stuff than they told us they wanted. We knew that day would come but we weren't expecting it that's for sure. They took a good picture but Santa was squinting. Oh well, when the boys are all smiling and looking forward at the same time, it's a keeper.

Tents, Forts, and Boxes OH MY!!!!

My boys love to build forts throughout our house on any given day. I am always finding my blanket supply dwindle when they are home. They build them everywhere too. I think they expect me to crawl through them if I need to get anywhere in the house too. I remember building blanket forts growing up and it is fun to see them get into it too. Here is a picture of Preston and Nicholas building one the other day.

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was nice this year. It was just my parents and our family. We had a very yummy meal followed by the boys and Papa jamming on their guitars and drums. It was some really good family time and of course the boys have a blast jamming out with Papa. They like to play the Blues and Austin is turning into a pretty good guitar player. Here are some pictures of their jam session.

Austin's Third Grade Performance

The entire third grade class at Austin's school put on a performance last week. They did songs and dances from around the world. Austin's class were the Mexican dancers. They did such a great job. We were so proud of him. They had around 6 songs to learn and all of them were in different languages. It was a great show. Austin got to pick where we ate out that night. Of course he picked Olive Garden, his favorite restaurant. Here are some pictures from his night.

Nicholas' Birthday Party

Nicholas had a great time at his birthday party. We all played laser tag (even the adults) and they went and did the virtual realty pods. They said those were really neat. They played the whole time. Nicholas got some really nice presents and had a lot of fun. He said he wants his next party there too. Here are some pictures of the party.

Nicholas is SEVEN!!!

Nicholas turned 7 yesterday!! I can't believe he is already seven and in the first grade. Seems like yesterday he was just a baby. His Papa and Mamaw came in the afternoon to spend some time with him. He got his drum set from them too. He was so excited. He hasn't stopped playing them since. He actually has some rhythm too. Maybe the boys will start a rock band someday and be nice and rich. A mom can wish can't she!! Saturday he is having a laser tag party. He is excited about that too. I will post pictures of his party on Saturday. Here are some pictures of my big boy when he was a baby and pictures of him today.

Our Crazy Day!!!

Nicholas woke up this morning not feeling well. He slept most of the day but since he was complaining about his throat hurting I decided to call and get him into the dr. Since his peds clinic is also an after hours care too he got an appointment after 5pm. We took him and his strep test was positive. On our way home I took in his prescription and since it was a wait I took the boys to Sonic for dinner. Nicholas really wanted a slush to drink for his throat. We got there, ordered, and they bring it to your car. So while we were waiting I turned off my car. Once the food got there it was getting a little chilly so I tried to turn the car back on. Of course it wouldn't start. I knew my battery was acting up but since it was starting everyday I didn't think too much of it. It was already later, around 7pm. I called my Dad and out they came to rescue me. He jump started my car and followed me to Walgreens and then back home. Thank goodness for them!!! What a night. Now I am ready for bed since the boys are already tucked in and off to dream land.

Preston's Love for his Mommy

The boys were done with their homework this evening and I told them they could play outside until dinner. Well, Preston ran into the living room to get his coat on. I told him he couldn't wear his leather one outside, only his play coat. He must have had selective hearing because out the door he ran with his good coat on. I yelled out the door for him to come back in to change. When he came in I told him "Do you know how angry you make me sometimes?" His response to me was "Well, do you know how happy you make me most times?" I melted and of course couldn't be mad at him any longer.

Austin's Baptism

Austin went forward in church today and told our pastor he was ready to be baptized. He was so nervous while he sat through service today. When we went up he was shaking like a leaf but he was so cute up there and we are so proud of him. His baptism is set for December 7th during our usual service. He is so happy and calling everyone in our family about it. I will post pictures after my big boy gets baptized.

Football Night

On Saturday night we took the boys to a Lobo football game at the University of New Mexico. Our niece Allie was performing with Razzle Dazzle, a cheerleading group, at half time. Overall it was good weather and a great game. The boys had more fun sliding up and down the railing with their cousins than they did watching the game. Austin watched most of the game which I was happy about. At least he is at an age where he likes to sit and enjoy a sporting event. The other two are still kind of young to sit through a 3 1/2 hour game. Although Preston did tell me that if they were the Colts he would have sat longer and cheered louder. It inspires me for the future. Here are a couple pictures of the boys at the game.

Halloween

I can't believe Halloween is over and it is into November already. Well, the boys had fun dressing up and attending the Harvest Festival at our church. They boys also trick or treated with their cousins while all of the big guys did our annual haunted house. Austin actually didn't want to trick or treat but opted to help Daddy and his uncles in the haunted house. They had fun. Preston and Nicholas couldn't wait to be done walking around the neighborhood. Yes, I did say done with trick or treating. They couldn't wait to go see Daddy. Actually once we got back they wanted nothing to do with him since he was dressed up and looked scary. Overall the weather was great and the boys had fun.
