Well, it only took us 12 years but we finally got him a new car. We went from one Nissan Sentra to an 08 Nissan Sentra. I guess when you have a good thing going might as well stick with it. It is so much roomier than our old one was and very sporty. I think overall we will be very happy with it, especially Mat.
This blog is about the ups and downs of raising four sons. It is all about my perception as a mom and how I can turn it into humor at the end of the day.
About Me
- Lovin' My Four Boys
- My life revolves around my family. I am married to a wonderful man, Mathew, for the past 14 years. We have four awesome boys, Austin, Nicholas, Preston and Liam. I am a full time working mom but enjoyed being with my boys for 8 years. Our life is full of the ups and downs everyday brings. We seem to find humor though through it all.

What a Wonderful Christmas!!!!
We hosted Christmas at our home this year. The boys actually slept in until 7am which was a treat. They each got what they asked for from Santa. Preston got a digital camera, Nicholas got a Power Ranger mega mission helmet, and Austin got Guitar Hero for PS2. They were very happy when everything was opened. They even picked up their mess afterward. It was a very fun morning. After we opened presents I started cooking our Christmas lunch. We were hosting Mat's family and my parents. We had a nice group and a very nice meal. The boys got new games for their WII and played those for quite a while. Overall we had a wonderful day with everyone and can't wait for our next family holiday.
A Christmas Eve Trip to the Doctor
Well, no holiday is complete without someone getting sick or hurt. We were getting ready for Christmas Eve services and I had told the boys to come in and get showered. Not ten minutes later Preston comes inside telling me that Austin got a bloody nose. Well he disappeared into the garage and in comes Austin. He was crying and I couldn't understand him at first. I told him to go in the bathroom and clean up. I would come in and help in a minute. Well he told me it wasn't his nose but inside his mouth. I went in after I got a towel and looked at his mouth. He had managed to cut the outside of his lip to where he looked like Joker from the Dark Knight. It was pretty bad. I called the dr and off we went. They were able to dermabond it and give him a tetanus shot. It looks alright although he came very close to losing half his cheek. He was jumping on the trampoline with a metal pipe. Not sure where that looked like a good idea but to an 8 year old boy everything looks like a good idea at the time. I don't think he will try it again anytime soon. Or at least that is what I am hoping for.
Christmas with Mamaw and Papa
We enjoyed Christmas with Mamaw and Papa the weekend before Christmas. We wanted some time to enjoy each others company before I hosted a big Christmas dinner at my home on Christmas day. We got the WII and Rockband and the boys have been playing ever since. Mat and I have enjoyed it too. We had a nice meal and just had an enjoyable day. The boys had a blast too. They had Papa and Mamaw putting together the puzzles they got and had lots of fun!!

First Real Snowfall!!!
Well yesterday it kept on coming down here!! So today the boys had a snow day at school and enjoyed playing in the snow all morning. They made a snowman, large snowballs, and had lots of fun rolling around in it. The snow balls had lots of dirt mixed in so we named them dirt balls instead. The dog even had fun jumping around in it. Here are some pictures of the boys enjoying their snow day.

Decorating the Christmas Tree
Well we finally decorated the Christmas tree this evening. I have been so busy and so have the boys that we haven't had any time. Yesterday I managed to get it up and this evening after basketball practice we decorated it. It became top heavy in the front so after some careful maneuvering it actually looks very pretty. All the boys care about it putting their personal ornaments on the tree that they have made over the years. It is so cute to look at all of those ornaments and remember back when they were in preschool making hand prints or picture ornaments. It is neat to reminisce together every year. Mat was taking the pictures this year as I handed the ornaments out. Overall the process worked pretty good and no one fell into the tree which is a plus. We even managed to take pictures of them together after it was decorated. Not bad for a late evening.

Mat & Austin's Baptism
Mat and Austin were baptized today at church. It was really nice to see them do it together. He was very nervous but proud of himself too. The other two boys asked him if he was going to start being nicer to them now. I couldn't help but laugh at that one. We went out to breakfast with him and some of our family that went to the baptism so overall it was a very nice day for him.
