This morning we took the boys to the pumpkin patch here in town. It was a really nice one and the best part it was free. The one we usually go to is up in the mountains and it has been really muddy so we opted out of going this year which really is a bummer. So we tried a new one and it was really neat. They had a corn maze, games, horse rides, and lots of pumpkins. The admission was free and the pumpkins prices went to a local charity organization so that was nice. The boys had a lot of fun riding the horses and playing the games. Preston got scared in the maze because his brothers ran ahead of him and he was left alone. He cried for a little bit but was ok when we took him to ride the horse. The picked out great pumpkins and we came home and cleaned them out. Tomorrow we will finish the faces on them. The boys are getting very excited for Halloween. We are going to a party at my brother in laws home and then the boys will go trick or treating with their cousins. It should be a lot of fun. I have attached a couple pumpkin patch pictures.
This blog is about the ups and downs of raising four sons. It is all about my perception as a mom and how I can turn it into humor at the end of the day.
About Me

- My life revolves around my family. I am married to a wonderful man, Mathew, for the past 14 years. We have four awesome boys, Austin, Nicholas, Preston and Liam. I am a full time working mom but enjoyed being with my boys for 8 years. Our life is full of the ups and downs everyday brings. We seem to find humor though through it all.

Field Trip Mama!!
Preston had his first field trip today to the children's museum in town. I met them there and had my little group of two boys to tour the museum with. First graders are great to go on field trips with because they still enjoy all of the little things that the museums have to offer. We did probably every exhibit and it was so much fun. The boys had a great time and so did I. I actually like field trips and watching how much fun the kids have is even more fun for me. Preston's teacher even tried out a bike exhibit that goes out on this little wire and the kids were so excited for her. Although a couple of them didn't want her to die. Poor kids!! Overall it was a lot of fun and I even had a huge group of kids want to eat lunch with me. Preston asked them why they wanted to eat with his Mom and they said cause she is fun. He said Nuh Uh!1 Gotta love my boy!!

Family Photo Session
Every year we try to get our annual family picture done for our Christmas newsletter. Well, this year we decided to head out to the mountains and do it ourselves. Overall it was a nice family day with little stress (well not really true but better than at a photo studio session). So Mat and I each took turns taking pictures of the boys with each other and then decided to set the timer up and actually got a great picture on the FIRST try, yep, FIRST try. It was a miracle but I told the boys to look at the flashing light, smile, and stand still until it snapped the picture. I also added in that we would take a hundred pictures if we had to so do it the first time and they could go and play. I guess it worked because they stood still, smiled, and got to go play. Overall a nice family day with pictures for our Christmas card was accomplished. That is a whole lot for a family of wiggly, talkative, little boys. So, if you are one of the lucky ones to get our newsletter and Christmas card you can see our hard work, but if you don't happen to be on our holiday mailing list then I will share a couple of the pictures here. Hope you enjoy!!

You Should Fire Me!!
All of my boys have normal day to day chores and yes, they do have trouble getting them done. But Austin is usually pretty good at taking the trash out daily or at least every other day. Well, the other day I was cleaning up the house and walked out to the garage to take some trash out. Low and behold I found about 4 more bags out in the garage that he never took out that morning. I figured he had done it since I heard the garage door open and then close again before school. Well, I guess he got distracted with something else and ended up forgetting. When he got home that evening I told him how many bags of trash I had to take out and how I was not happy with him because he didn't listen that morning. Well his response was plain and simple. Austin told me "You should fire me Mom. Evidentally I am not good at that job. Maybe I could try something else." I told him "No" he could learn to take the trash out a little better. Then he walked away and said it was worth a try. Gotta love those boys!!
We Should Be Ashamed!!
I haven't been on here for a little while. I need to make a better effort to blog everyday because really, with three boys there is something funny to say everyday. Today was a great example of that. We took the boys to lunch since they are out of school and Mat and I had the afternoon off. The lady at the restaurant came to take our order and after we were done ordering Nicholas said to her "We have five people in our family." And before she responded Austin said, "We should be ashamed of ourselves because we are an odd family instead of an even family." The lady busted out laughing and Mat and I just sat there contemplating where he even came up with that. He keeps me laughing that's for sure. So I guess to my kiddos since we have an odd number of kids we are a weird family and should have another one to make our family even. Ha Ha!!
