This blog is about the ups and downs of raising four sons. It is all about my perception as a mom and how I can turn it into humor at the end of the day.
About Me
- Lovin' My Four Boys
- My life revolves around my family. I am married to a wonderful man, Mathew, for the past 14 years. We have four awesome boys, Austin, Nicholas, Preston and Liam. I am a full time working mom but enjoyed being with my boys for 8 years. Our life is full of the ups and downs everyday brings. We seem to find humor though through it all.

A Talent Show
It has been a very dramatic week for my son Austin. He worked his butt off with my Dad to play guitar and sing a song for the talent show at his school. Mat took him and he did a great job. I wish I could have been there but I wasn't. Mat said he did great until he was interrupted for going too long. That is bull to begin with because they had it timed out perfect. So we will skip to Tuesday when they posted the talent show lists. There are three shows so I didn't think there would be a problem with him making it. Well little did I know that there were lots of kids that were on every list so it made for less spaces. So Austin didn't make it. He called Mat and ended up coming home early. He cried and it was very devastating to him. He said he sucked and didn't want to play guitar anymore. Of course it didn't help that kids at his school made fun of him for not making it. Not that they even tried but when you are that age everything hurts so much. Now I am fuming and so is Mat. In our area middle school and high school sports carry huge rosters for sports teams because they don't want to cut kids and hurt feelings but in elementary school we have cuts for a talent show. There are three shows for goodness sake. They couldn't make sure everyone gets a minute to do their act. How unfair is that policy. Mat and I happened to question his teacher this year and her abilities so we really feel we have made Austin a target. Why a 10 year old would be a target for adults would be beyond me but they made their point loud and clear and my son was the target. Poor kid is shattered so he goes to school today and asks his music teacher why he didn't make it. She tells him he was a key off when he sang. I am sorry but what elementary school kid isn't a key or two or ten off. Lots of little giggly girl groups made it so is she saying they are at a perfect pitch or is she saying she is a perfect b****. Really, to hurt him like that when he was already crushed. I really can't stand my kids school right now. Let's keep every kid who tries out for high school football but cut a kid in a elementary school talent show. What a crock!
